Livingston County – Livingston County DA Greg McCaffery has defeated Republican Eric Schiener and Conservative Steve Sessler in his re-election bid.
The Democrat won 45 percent of the vote, while Schiener won 36 percent, and Sessler 18 percent.
After a heated Republican primary, Schiener won the Republican nomination after a virtual tie was broken by County Republicans. As a result, Sessler ran on the Conservative line.
This is McCaffery’s first election win in the Republican-leaning Livingston County. He was appointed Livingston County DA by Governor Andrew Cuomo in May.
