New data on global temperatures is constantly streaming in from weather satellites and weather stations on Earth’s surface. A recent study was conducted by several independent statisticians for the Associated Press (AP) that indicates global temperatures are not cooling. According to the article, the group of statisticians gathered at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and studied 130 years of ground based temperatures and 30 years of satellite temperature data and found the trends still indicate warming, even over the last 10 years. It is generally accepted that 1998 was the warmest year on record according to the data with 2005 being a close second. The top 10 warmest years in records have all occurred over the last 10 years.
