It is all a matter of statistics when looking at the weather and climate for Rochester. The National Weather Service has just recalculated the 30 year average for seasonal temperatures and precipitation. This important change in the weather data allows us to make a comparison from year to year and season to season as it relates to temperature, precipitation and snowfall. This recalculation now shows that over the last 30 years Rochester on average was .6 degrees warmer for the annual mean temperature which now stands at 57.2 degrees. In addition, there was a rise of .20 inches to 34.27 inches in annual precipitation. However, the average annual snowfall dropped from 100.3 inches to 99.5 inches. As you might expect this change in climate stats was very similar to Buffalo.
