The use of climate data can help you make that determination. Through historical records we know the latest freeze ever recorded during the spring season occurred on May 29th, 1889. A freeze means that the low temperature fell to at least 32 degrees. On that date in 1889, the temperature reached 31 degrees. The temperature dropped below freezing on several other occasions late in May as well. We hit 31 degrees on the 23rd in 1967, the 24th in 1956, and 32 degrees on May 25th, 1956. However, given the recent warmth over the past few days it is hard to imagine temperatures this cold.
