Java junkies everywhere, rejoice!

Your cup of joe may cut your risk for the most common form of skin cancer.

A new study published in the journal Cancer Research claims caffeine lowers a person's chances of developing basal cell carcinoma.

Researchers looked at data from more than 112,000 people.

And they say one-fourth of those studied developed basal cell carcinoma over a 20-year period.

The study says coffee drinkers aren't the only ones in luck.

Caffeine seemed to be the key factor -- so tea, cola and chocolate may also cut a person's cancer risk.

But doctors say people shouldn't drink coffee by the gallons based on this study.

More research is needed to better understand why caffeine cuts the risk of developing basal cell carcinoma.
