Installing an automatic washing machine is a fairly simple procedure. A typical washer hookup will have two faucets for hot and cold water, as well as a hole leading to a standpipe for drainage. Make sure the top of the standpipe is higher than the water level in the washer to prevent overflows. Connect the hoses before you move the washer into position. As a precaution, install filter screens in the hose fittings to prevent dirt that may be in the plumbing system from entering the washer. When you push the washer into position, make sure the hoses don't kink up. Once it's in place, adjust the leveling legs so that they're in firm contact with the floor and tighten them securely. Otherwise the machine may wobble when you have an unbalanced load. Once everything is in place and connected, turn on the faucets and run a test load while you watch for any drips or leaks.
