Criminal Investigation Underway

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department confirms Shanley is the “focus of multiple criminal investigations.”  Evidence has been turned over to the District Attorney’s Office.

Investigators would not comment further.

Peggy Pender said the BBB received so many complaints about Five Brothers Remodeling the company was rated “F” and an alert posted on the BBB website. 

She recommends clients research more than just a company name- but also the name of the owner as a way to avoid the “name game.”

“We like to see that a person is licensed and that they have a track record and good reputation,” she said.

Meanwhile the Curtis’ fear they will never collect on the money they owe.  “Even if I don’t get my money back I want to stop him from doing it someone else,” says Lydia Curtis.

“I think if I had my way he would be prosecuted and put in jail,” said Herbert Curtis.
