Irondequoit, N.Y. - The Humane Society of Greater Rochester is looking for more information about an abandoned pitbull they found in Irondequoit last week.

Officials say the adult red female pitbull mix was pushed out of a white van near Titus Ave. and Route 590 around 11:30 a.m. Jan. 11. The dog was locked in a crate.

Vets say the dog show no obvious signs of abuse, but want to find her owner.

In New York State, it is illegal to abandon an animal. The dog's owner could face up to a year in jail and/or a a $1,000 fine.

Anyone with information about the dog or her owner is asked to call the Animal Cruelty Hotline at 223-6500 or by calling CrimeStoppers at 423-9300.

The dog is currently being cared for at Lollypop Farm.
