Brockport, N.Y. - Brockport High School football coach Greg Pelletier died Wednesday after a battle with cancer.
Pelletier was diagnosed with bladder cancer last March. He chose to continue coaching the team as he received treatment this past fall.
Pelletier had been with the school district for 10 years as a football coach and social studies teacher.
"This is a huge loss for our school and community and we are deeply saddened. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Pelletier family," said Garry Stone, Brockport School Superintendent.
Brockport High School is currently on break, but the school will be opened to give students and staff a chance to gather on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. Grief counselors will be available.
