Canandaigua native and Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte took the first step toward what could be spectacular summer Olympic games in London.
Lochte was at the U.S. swimming trials trying to qualify for the games.
He and Michael Phelps were in the finals of the 400 meter ‘Individual Medley’ Monday night.
Lochte beat out Phelps in the freestyle to take first place and qualify for London.
They will compete again in the Olympics.
