Albion, NY.Y - The murder of an Albion native almost two years ago has finally been settled. Celeste Abbott and her husband John were killed by his son, Colin, at their home outside Pittsburgh in 2011.

42-year-old Colin Abbott pleaded no contest to the murder charges last week and was sentenced to 35 to 80 years in prison.

Prosecutors say he killed the couple to inherit his father's sizable estate. Colin Abbott first lied about the crime telling police and family members that the couple was killed in a car crash. His story began to unravel about a month later when Celeste's family began to question it and called police.

"It was devastating to think we were conned by lies from this man. You are just duped. That's all there is", said Eileen Whiting, Celeste's older sister who lives in Albion. Whiting spoke at Abbott's sentencing last week in Butler County Court telling the judge her sister will never live to see her children marry or see her grandchildren.

The family now is making plans to bury Celeste Abbott in her hometown of Albion.
