Clyde/Rochester, N.Y. - Jamie Arliss’ doctors at the University of Rochester faced a medical puzzle when deciding how best to remove a resistant mass of blood vessels in her heart.

Arliss, of Clyde, who had a stubborn mass in her heart that couldn't be removed surgically and other treatments failed to remedy it.

Then, a broken piece of equipment forced doctors to move into the cardiac suite.

There, two physicians, a cardiologist and neurosurgeon, worked together to destroy the mass by using a kind of medical superglue. It was the first time the substance had been used in the heart, with the goal of killing the tumor from the inside.

The amazing results will be featured on the Discovery Channel Monday night, June 25, at 10 p.m. with the premiere of "Diagnosis: Dead or Alive.”
