Rochester, N.Y. -- Disney is offering refunds to parents who purchased the "Baby Einstein" DVD series.

These refunds are in response to a recent lawsuit accusing "unfair and deceptive practices." In 2006, the Walt Disney Company dropped the word "educational" when marketing the popular series.

Developmental psychologist Lucia French of the University of Rochester says there's nothing wrong with the videos, but the best way to teach your children is through interaction, such as helping a baby describe a recent event, such as a visit to the park.

“The mother is feeding the lines, but the child is rehearsing the event and learning how to put it into words,” French said.

French suggests watching the videos with your baby and talking about the parts your child finds interesting.

Disney is offering a refund of $15.99 for each DVD, up to four per household. Movies must be returned directly to the company.
