Rochester, N.Y.- All charges have been dismissed against a suspended captain at the Monroe County Jail who was accused of raping an inmate in 2010.
Catherine McLaughlin originally faced more than a dozen counts, including rape. The charges were dismissed after the inmate admitted he lied.
The final charge, unauthorized use of a computer, alleged McLaughlin used a Monroe County Sheriff’s Department computer to check her personal email. A judge dismissed the final charge, in the “interest of justice.”
On Friday, a spokesman for the Sheriff's Office says McLaughlin will be terminated as the result of internal disciplinary proceedings.
