East Bloomfield, N.Y. – First responders called out to the crash on Pond Road in East Bloomfield Tuesday night came upon an awful scene.

Of the seven teenagers inside the pickup truck before it started to roll, only three were still inside when it came to rest.

David Forester, a paramedic with Finger Lakes Ambulance, was one of the first to arrive.

“There was a lot of personnel, it was organized chaos, everyone went into position,” Forester said.

Forester was assigned to one of the five girls, monitoring her as Mercy Flight flew them to Strong Hospital.

In his 25 years at Finger Lakes Ambulance, Forester has seen the worst of the worst.

His colleagues were the ones to respond to the crash that killed the so-called Fairport Five not far from Tuesday’s rollover.

“You just put the task in front of you and deal with the emotion part later,” Forester said.
