Rochester, N.Y. – Twenty-two year old Darius Bursey walked into police headquarters Thursday, and turned himself in for a homicide that took place in January, according to the Rochester Police Department.
When the police arrived at 534 Columbia Avenue on January 22, they found an unresponsive Lamar Shahid, 18, in the driveway. He died at Strong Hospital a short time later.
Shahid was a senior at James Monroe High School, according to district officials.
Bursey has been charged with the murder of Lamar Shahid.
Bursey was arraigned before City Court Judge Thomas Rainbow Morse and remanded to the Monroe County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
