Rochester, N.Y. – State Police arrested Matthew King, 29, for several sex crimes against children Thursday.
King allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old resident of Hillside Children’s Center, where he used to work as a youth care professional.
"The circumstance that has come to light is deeply concerning to us," said Hillside Children’s Center’s Executive Director Karen Zandi.
According to court documents, 29-year-old King, of Rochester: "Did intentionally, knowingly, and unlawfully, engage in anal [and oral] sexual contact with a fifteen year old male."
Records allege these incidents happened in King's bedroom, the laundry room and in a van.
"The care and safety of children is our utmost concern," Zandi said. "We typically have conversations with children about feeling safe whether at Hillside, their home, or in the community. So when this situation came to light we increased those conversations, as well as increasing conversations with parents to be alert about any worries about their child."
State Police tell us King has worked at many other places with children, and they are looking for other potential victims.
King is charged with five counts of third-degree criminal sexual act and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
