Rochester, N.Y. - A Lake Effect Snow Warning is in effect for Wayne County through 6 AM Monday.

The cold west to northwest flow behind the fast moving storm late last night will generate lake effect snow today. Most areas north of the Thruway will see another inch or two with up to 5" in Wayne County through evening. Blowing and drifting snow may make travel difficult at times. Expect reduced visibility in open areas. Overall, many areas will see in excess of 10" of snow for the entire weekend.

The steady snow will taper overnight Sunday with most areas seeing another 1-3" of snow. Areas along the lake Ontario shoreline and east through Wayne County can expect up to 5" of additional snow overnight. Tonight’s low will be near 20 degrees. Any flurries early Monday will taper with partly sunny skies returning. Monday will still be blustery with blowing and drifting, the high will be in the lower 30s.

The weather won’t be nearly as harsh heading through Tuesday and Wednesday with the high temperature moderating into the middle or upper 30s with a few 40 degree readings possible by Wednesday. Expect gray skies Tuesday with the chance for a brief flurry or sprinkle. Wednesday will be partly sunny and pleasant.

13WHAM Meteorologist Mark McLean reports over a foot of snow has fallen around Sodus, while the Rochester and Greece areas have seen around ten inches of snow. Officially in Rochester nearly 15" of snow has fallen since Friday night.
