Rochester, NY - No one was hurt after a police car crashed into a building on Central Park in the city around 1:30 Friday morning.

Police on patrol spotted a suspect from an earlier crime walking in the Central Park area and approached him in their car.

When he took off, officers drove after him and crashed into the front of a barbershop.

Nicholas Fitts runs the barbershop that was damaged.

"It knocked the wall out and it shifted the platform that we got, and it shifted it and drove it through the back wall so you got damage in the front and then you got damage in the back," said Fitts.

He estimates the damage will cost him $1,500.  Fitts said he learned about the accident when his alarm company called him.

Police later took the suspect into custody.
