California - A 12-year-old middle school student in California is in police custody after deputies say he threatened to shoot a teacher and 23 students.
Sheriff's deputies say the student sent an email to a teacher on Friday, warning of the shooting. The student also reportedly made reference to thousands of rounds of ammunition and several guns.
Deputies executed a search warrant at the student's home on Sunday and took the 7th grader into custody.
Several computers were seized from the home, along with five rifles, three shotguns and three handguns.
Police say he is undergoing a mental health evaluation at a local hospital.
