Lyons, N.Y. - The trial is underway for a Wayne County man accused of raping a 9-month old girl.
Richard Dallas, 24, was first arrested and indicted in December.
Dallas was arrested after numerous interviews by police.
The baby's mother testified Tuesday about her daughter still having health problems from her injuries.
Surgeons who treated the child also testified that the baby would likely have died if she was not brought in for emergency surgery.
Lyon's Police Chief Richard Bogan said Dallas kept changing his story when they inititally interviewed him about the case.
Dallas' family is in court supporting him.
Dallas faces a possible life sentence in prison if convicted.
