Canandaigua, N.Y. – A Canandaigua man was arrested for shoving a shopping cart into his wife during an argument at the Super Walmart in Hopewell.

Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies say a 4-year-old child was in it at the time. The cart struck the woman.

Police said the incident took place in front of their children, 3- and 4-years old.

Daniel Richard McWilliams, 34, of Canandaigua, has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.

He was arraigned in Hopewell, and sent to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond. He will appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date.

An order of protection was issued.
