Rochester, N.Y. - A woman who was stabbed 19 times in a Rochester high rise stairwell has died.
Doreen Hildebrandt, 53, passed away Tuesday at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Hildebrandt was injured at the Andrews Terrace apartment complex on St. Paul Street on Jan. 29.
The man charged in her death, 47-year-old Dennis McFadden, pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and assault charges.
However, the Rochester Police Department is now classifying the case as a homicide.
The district attorney's office plans to present the case to a grand jury for a murder indictment.
