Rochester, N.Y. - Two Rochester Police officers and a suspect suffered minor injuries when they were hit by a car Monday night.

The incident happened around 9:00 p.m. on St. Paul Street, near Beach Street.

Police said Officers Richard Doran and Kevin Flanagan were investigating drug activity in the area when several men took off running.

Police said the officers began pursuing one man when he suddenly stopped running and lay down in the middle of the street. As they attempted to take him into custody, a vehicle hit the three of them.

Officer Doran injured his leg and Officer Flanagan hurt his arm and leg. They were treated for minor injuries along with the person they were pursuing.

Police say the driver of the car, Singh Gurvinder, 35, was ticketed for failure to yield.
