Spencerport, N.Y. - A local group has returned back home after a post-Superstorm Sandy relief effort.
The folks with Underground Paint took off for Staten Island last week, armed with a trailer and much-needed donated goods.
They say among the various items they brought, cleaning supplies were the most sought after. After spending around a week there, they told us Saturday about the toughest part.
"Getting over the emotions of it, trying to be strong for the people who are already emotional," said Mark Evans of Underground Paint. "If you're going to do something like that you have to stay strong instead of making things worse."
Aside from handing out whatever they could get their hands on, the group spent time helping with simple fixes around people's broken homes.
