One Dead In Irondequoit House Fire

Irondequoit, N.Y. – An early morning house fire in Irondequoit killed one person.

Laurelton firefighters were called to a home on Falstaff Rd. just before 1 a.m. Fire and heavy smoke was coming from the roof when firefighters first arrived.

Irondequoit Police say one person died in the fire, but did not have any details on the victim.

Laurelton Assistant Fire Chief Chas Ingersoll says fire in the attic caused part of the house to collapse, forcing firefighters to work from outside.

Investigators are working to determine what started the fire.
