Gates, N.Y. - Police say a driver was trying to find her dropped cell phone in her car when she crashed into a Dollar Tree store in Gates Sunday.
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. at the store on Spencerport Road.
According to Lt. Jim VanBredrode of Gates Police Dept., 29-year-old Cindy Carey of Rochester drove her car through one of the store's front windows.
The crash injured three customers inside the building, sending two to Strong Memorial Hospital and one to Unity Hospital.
Carey was not injured.
She was charged with No Driver’s License, Use of a Cell Phone While Driving, 3 counts of Assault 3rd, Criminal Mischief 4th, and Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.
Carey is currently in the Monroe County Jail and is scheduled to return to Gates Town Court on Jan. 11.
