Chili, N.Y. - Chris Schwer says he grew up in a home where all of the cameras said Kodak on them.
He remembers holding a Kodak Instamatic for the first time and loading the film cartridge.
He loved the pictures it took. Chris developed a love for taking pictures. He spent 30 years as a professional photographer in New York City in the fashion industry.
Chris says for him, Kodak was all about the film, paper and chemicals. He says the cameras were okay, but the products, were the best in the business.
He isn't surprised that Kodak is getting away from camera-making to focus on its core businesses and products.
His only hope? That there is always Kodak film and paper out there. He says people are always nostalgic when it comes to Kodak, but he says what we need to remember was that there would not have been Kodak moments, without the film products.
To him, the cameras were just a way for Kodak to get people to use the film and other products.
Though Schwer says he is sad to see Kodak making these drastic changes, he believes there will always be a place for Kodak products out there, even if Kodak isn't making them anymore.
