Webster, N.Y. - The Monroe County Sheriff's Office released new information Wednesday at a press conference regarding the deaths of two brothers who most likely drowned in Irondequoit Bay.

The Coast Guard used sonar equipment to locate the men in the water last night.  They were able to locate the bodies within 20 minutes of using the sonar equipment.

Officers identified the victims as, Keo Nhong, 29, and Chanta Nhong, 27, both of Rochester.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department said the group was tubing when one of the men and two children ended up in the water.

The tube caught a wave and flipped over. The two children in the water were wearing life jackets, but the man was not.

The two children on the boat were able to pull the two children in the water to safety.

Meanwhile, the man on the boat jumped in to help his brother in the water.  He was also not wearing a life jacket.

A 9-year-old on the boat called 911 reporting that the men were having trouble swimming.

The four children were not injured.

Emergency crews credit the kids on the boat with saving the lives of the two children in the water.

In a statement, the Coast Guard said, "The Coast Guard recommends that all people wear a life jacket while boating. It is safer to wear one at all times when boating than to try and put one on during an emergency."
