A freezing rain advisory will go into effect at midnight tonight and last through 8 a.m. Monday. The advisory is in effect for areas south and east of Rochester. A tenth of an inch of freezing rain will be possible. A wind advisory goes into effect for all of WNY from 1 p.m. Monday through 5 p.m. Tuesday.
This evening will become cloudy with a few light rain showers developing after midnight. Areas south and east of Rochester will initially be below freezing. This will create the possibility of a glazing of ice overnight as rain moves across the region. The temperature will reach the upper 20s this evening and slowly rise through the 30s overnight.
It will become a bit breezy late tonight and Monday will become windy by the afternoon. Expect showers Monday morning with a return to snow showers by Monday afternoon as a cold front crosses the region. No widespread snow accumulation is expected. Monday’s early high will reach the lower 40s with the temperature dropping through the 30s by late Monday afternoon.
Expect gray skies and windy weather Monday night, with snow showers continuing. A coating to 1” of snow may be possible, especially west of Rochester. Some of the wind gusts may approach 50mph Monday night and Tuesday.
For Tuesday we expect a few snow showers with a coating to a 1” for most. The gusty winds will continue into the afternoon. We may find a few sunny breaks as well, with a high in the low to mid 30s.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a high in the upper 30s.
