Brighton, N.Y. - Four teenagers were hurt in a serious crash involving a school bus and a car on Warren Avenue in Tuesday around 3:30 p.m.

Police say the bus driver was traveling at a slow rate of speed on Warren Avenue when it was hit from behind by a white Mercedes sedan.

The sedan became wedged underneath the bus tire.

The four Brighton High school students in that car were transported to Strong Hospital. A PR spokesperson said their ages range from 14-16 years old.

They were treated in the emergency room.

There were four students from the Council Rock Elementary on the bus at the time.  The bus driver and students were not injured.

Brighton Police Chief Mark Henderson says, "We’re looking at a number of factors as to why this accident happened – one of the factors is the speed of the vehicle. I don’t have any of the logistics or the facts right now, we’re just at the recovery phase, aiding the passengers right now, but the next phase will be the reconstructive phase where we reconstruct the accident using GPS and that will begin right now."
