Shelby, N.Y. - Three people, one of whom died, were sent to the hospital after a three-car crash, according to Orleans County Sheriff's officials.
The crash happened just before 7 p.m. Sunday on Route 63 in the Town of Shelby.
It began with a head-on crash between a Dodge Caravan and a Chevrolet Cavalier. The Dodge went into the ditch, the Cavalier landed in the middle of the road. Then, a Chevy Cobalt came along and hit the Cavalier.
The passenger of the Cavalier, Kelsey N. Milks, 19, of Corfu, was pronounced dead at Erie County Medical Center, at 8:15 p.m
The Cavalier driver, Dana R. Cipra, 20, of Batavia remains hospitalized at ECMC.
The van driver, Walter C. Hawkins, 73, of Medina was treated and released at Medina Memorial Hospital.
The Cobalt Driver, Robin E. Harrington, 49, of Greece and his passenger, Debra E. Sherman, 49, of Fairport were not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
