Dalton, N.Y. - Sheriff's deputies say a 17-year-old girl was struck and killed by a freight train Thursday in Dalton, a hamlet of Nunda in Livingston County.
We're told it happened around 9:00 a.m. near the intersection of Oakland Street.
Police say the victim is Kaylie Mann.
They are still trying to determine how the accident happened.
Police say the tragedy speaks loud and clear of the dangers of being near railroad tracks at any time.
