Local volunteers returning from Haiti

Updated: Monday, February 24 2014, 02:23 PM EST

Leogane, Haiti -- Several volunteers are heading home after a trip to help children impacted by a 2010 earthquake and tsunami there.

More than a dozen people from Rochester General Hospital Intervol and Constellation Brands helped build an orphanage for nearly 50 children in the city of Leogane.

A Canandaigua businessman bought the land that the orphanage sits on, giving the children who live there stability.

13WHAM’s Ginny Ryan and photographer Paul Giovine accompanied the volunteers on the mission. Their special reports will air all this week.
