Brockport, N.Y.- Starting Monday, the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) will officially acquire Lakeside Health System’s clinical practices and Spencerport urgent care.
Health leaders said patients visiting the primary care practices of Vladimir Gaspar, M.D., and Didem Miraloglu, M.D., located in LeRoy and the Lakeside Physician Office Building, respectively, and the urgent care facility in Spencerport are expected to experience a seamless transition.
The actual purchase of the Lakeside Hospital facility and physician office building in Brockport still needs state approval but is proceeding as planned.
Renamed URMC Strong West, plans are to establish an urgent care center at the former Lakeside Hospital property by late August or early September, along with laboratory and imaging services that will support Brockport-area physicians and the urgent care center.
URMC also will pursue Department of Health approval for a full-service, freestanding Emergency Department for early 2014.
Lakeside Hospital closed its doors in April.
