Wallenda conquers Grand Canyon in sky-high stunt

Updated: Wednesday, July 24 2013, 09:49 AM EDT

Arizona - It was a grand test of fortitude for wire-walker Nik Wallenda.

One year after walking across Niagara Falls, he did it again, this time over the Grand Canyon.

No safety net. No harness.

The wire was higher than the Empire State Building. And the length was about 1,400. That's more than a quarter mile.

It took Wallenda just under 23 minutes.

As for that wire he walked across?

It was crafted at Henrietta-based O'Connell Electric.
