Brighton PD release names of shooting victims

Brighton, N.Y. -- Brighton police released the names of the two victims from Sunday's fatal shooting.
Around 4:00 p.m. Sunday, the Brighton Police Department responded to the Elmwood Court Apartments for the report of a disturbance.
When officers arrived, they found Jonathon Pender, 30, dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
Additionally, police found Matthew Fix, 29, still alive with what is preliminary being investigated as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Fix was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he soon died.
According to police, Fix shot Pender and then himself. They called the incident a "domestic situation." The victims apparanelty knew each other and were allegedly involved with the same woman. Her name will not be released.
Police are using social netoworking sites to find out what happened between the two men.
"It is a rare occurrence, something like this. We did hear from a number of neighbors how alarmed they were, you got a number of calls and talked to some neighbors on the scene who described what they heard. To say i'ts a rare occurrence in the town of Brighton would be an understatement," said Brighton Police Chief Mark Henderson.
The investigation is ongoing.
