Irondequoit, N.Y. - A local World War II veteran can't take part in Honor Flights because of health reasons, So instead, Honor Flight brought the much deserved honor to her.
Nina Oberle served in the Army for three years during WWII.
"She's the reason we do this. It's kind of one of those things, reading a history book about World War II is one thing, but actually talking with the veterans - getting to know them a little bit - hearing their stories puts so much more into it," said Rich Stewart, President of Honor Flight Rochester.
Oberly sits in her driveway during parades with a sign that says she is a World War II veteran.
