Rochester, N.Y. – Rochester Police officers searched a home on Forbes Street around 10:30 a.m. Friday, looking for man who shot at a woman he was fighting with earlier in the morning.
The car the woman was in was shot four times, while another bullet struck a nearby home.
“What you saw was members of our emergency task force entered the house with the expectation that this suspect who had just shot at someone may have been armed,” said Captain Tony McMullen.
Police said the search all began just before 4 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Child and Danforth streets where the suspect shot at a car.
The woman he was shooting at drove away from the scene unharmed and helped police track the suspect to Forbes Street.
“No one was harmed, thankfully, and she cooperated with us and that’s why we’re here, because we had a victim that was willing to assist us in the investigation,” McMullen said.
The suspect is on probation and was convicted of a weapons crime in the past, police said.
