Greece, N.Y. - One student has been arrested in connection with a pill-consuming incident that left two students in the hospital.
Police say it appears that four students at Greece Arcadia High School were showing symptoms of being under the influence of some type of substance early Friday afternoon.
"They were groggy and lethargic, but they were still alert and conversational," said Laurel Heiden, district spokesperson.
It is believed that the four may have taken some type of pill. Greece Police say the drug is believed to be Benzodiazepine, which is a type of Valium.
A spokesman for the district said the students were not forthcoming with information about what the pill was as of Friday afternoon.
The two students were taken to Strong Hospital as a precaution, two others sought medical attention later.
"A whole bunch of cops surrounding the kids on gurneys, that's all I saw," said Tyler Ras, a Greece Arcadia senior.
Their condition does not appear to be serious.
The 16-year-old student, Andrew Goebel, was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, and endangering the welfare of a child.
