Donald Trump says he is the only person bidding on the Buffalo Bills who will keep the team in Buffalo.
Trump sent out this tweet Tuesday:
The bidding process is expected to close by the end of the summer.
The new owner could take over early next year.
Governor Andrew Cuomo told the Buffalo News, "I know, at this point, a number of bidders who are seriously considering going forward who are committed to keeping the team in Western New York."
Sabres owner Terry Pegula, Jon Bon Jovi and MLSE and Tom Golisano have been mentioned among the interested parties.
The Bills are essentially locked into playing at Ralph Wilson Stadium through the end of the 2019 season under the terms of the lease the franchise reached with the state and county.
The new owner would face a $400 million penalty to move the team to another market.
