Albion, N.Y. - Fire crews battled for most of Thursday afternoon to put out a large warehouse fire.
The fire broke out at the Orleans Pallet Company on West Avenue in Albion.
Albion Police Chief Roland Nenni said the owner of Orleans Pallet Company was cutting pipe when sparks from the grinder caught fire.
Apparently the owner and a second person were the only two people in the building at the time of the fire. No injuries have been reported.
Multiple fire departments responded to the incident including Niagara County, Monroe County, Genesee County and Orleans County fire departments.
According to Chief Nenni, most of the building has been destroyed in the fire. The main concern of emergency crews was making sure the remainder of the building did not collapse on a chemical plant next door. The plant, Empire Coating, contained a chemical called methyl chlorine, but it was removed.
Albion residents were asked to remain indoors until the situation was deemed safe.
