West Point, N.Y. (AP) - Ten soldiers from Fort Polk escaped serious injuries when their Humvee crashed on the grounds at Military Academy West Point, according to authorities.

A West Point spokesman said that 10 soldiers from the Army's 10th Mountain Division were riding in the vehicle around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when it rolled over in a field off Route 293.

The official says 9 of the soldiers suffered injuries that aren't believed to be serious, but one was taken to Westchester Medical Center as a precaution.

The soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division are part of a group supporting cadet summer training at West Point, 50 miles north of New York City.

Most of the 10th Mountain Division is based at Fort Drum, New York.
