Rochester, N.Y. - 12-12-12, a date so rare, it had many couples rushing to the altar and the delivery room.“We had a patient who scheduled their c-section on this date specifically,” said Bonnie Walden with the Highland Hospital Family Maternity Center.
“We weren't planning on it. There wasn't a target date, it just happened to fall on the date and we're just happy he's here and healthy,” said Jason Higley, whose son was born on 12-12-12.
The Higley family welcomed their second child four days early. Holden Gerald Higley was born shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday.
“It’s kind of exciting, it's a neat birthday to have, easier to remember,” said mother, Erin Higley.
The Higley’s say their newest addition makes their family complete.
Numerologists say that's a symbol of the number 12. It means whole and perfect.
So perfect, the day left 12-year-old, Avery Seigler speechless on his birthday.
13WHAM News asked Seigler if he felt special.
His reply was simple, "yes."
Seigler's classmates at St. John Neumann school shared a cake to celebrate his birth.
They also shared insight on why the number 12 is so divine.
“The 12 tribes of Israel which came off the 12 sons of Jacob,” 6th grader Benjamin Buyer said.
“One of the examples is the 12 apostles that Jesus has,” 6th grader Stephanie Lewis said.
12-12-12 has a full meaning for Josephine Cimino and her family.
Cimino turned 100 years old Wednesday.
Cimino was born in 1912 to parents from Sicily, Italy; one of nine children.
Her family says they're grateful to celebrate with her.“This is a wonderful occasion to celebrate her 100th birthday, my grandmother lived to be 101 years old,” Cimino’s niece Anne Zicari-Lopez said.
By 3:20 p.m., Highland Hospital had ten child births.
The Rochester City Clerk told 13WHAM News there were at least seven weddings at City Hall Wednesday.
