Ontario/Auburn, N.Y. (AP) – Heico, holding company for Vette Thermal Solutions in Ontario, Wayne County, says it will lay off all 84 workers at its plant next month. The industrial cooling company's work will move to Pelham, N.H.
Vette Thermal is major employer in the area.
This comes at the same time as another company in the region says it's also shuttering a plant. Daikin McQuay, a manufacturer of heating and cooling equipment, said Wednesday it will shut down its Auburn operation starting in April.
The company told the Auburn Citizen the operations will be moved to the plant of a sister company, Goodman Global Group, in Fayetteville, Tenn. He says it's possible some workers could be transferred.
