Newark, N.Y. -- Investigators in Wayne County have arrested 20 people Thursday and Friday for alleged involvement in drug activity all over the county, and police say more arrests are coming.
The arrests, mostly for felony charges of trafficking and selling crack cocaine, also included a Macedon mother and her 16-year-old daughter who were allegedly selling marijuana out of their Main Street home.
The sweep, which included some arrests in Monroe and Cayuga counties, was conducted as part of a six month investigation conducted by WayneNET narcotics enforcement task force. The task force includes members of the law enforcement agencies of all the Wayne County villages.
Police say that nearly 80% of the crime there is related to drug activity.
