3 Killed, 2 Injured In Head-on Crash Near Buffalo

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (AP) - State police say three people have been killed in a head-on crash between two cars on the main highway between Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
   
Police say a car driven by an 87-year-old was traveling north on a southbound lane when it crashed into another car at about at about 12:45 a.m. Monday on I-190 in Grand Island.
   
Police tell local media outlets that the drivers were taken to Erie County Medical Center, where they were listed in critical condition. No names have been released, pending the notification of relatives.
   
Southbound lanes were closed until shortly before 7 a.m.
