Rochester & Buffalo, N.Y. (AP) - More than 100 jobs will be cut at the airports in Rochester and Buffalo when a Delta Air Lines subsidiary that provides services for regional carriers shuts down.
Regional Elite Airline Services will lay off 51 workers at the Greater Rochester International Airport by the end of the year. The Minneapolis-based company also will eliminate 63 customer service and ground-handling jobs at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
Regional Elite in August told employees nationwide that the company would close by the end of the year, reportedly because of high overhead costs and the loss of contracts.
