Geneso, N.Y. - The passenger in a one-car accident on Interstate 390 South was killed when the car left the road, became airborne, and went down a steep ravine on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2 p.m. on the roadway between Mt. Morris and Geneseo, about a half-mile north of Exit 7.
State Police say a passenger in the car, Mildred Caughel, 82, of Bath, died at the scene.
The driver, 63-year-old Carol Andrews, was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital. Police said her injuries are not life-threatening.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
