Rochester, NY - Hundreds more veterans in our area are now getting help from the Veterans Administration.
On Tuesday, 13 WHAM News teamed up with WXXI and the V.A. to help vets sign up for benefits and services they have earned.
Nearly 1,000 calls were received and more than 850 applications were logged. Organizers- who have done this in other cities say Rochester’s campaign was the most successful yet.
Veteran Michael Otis said, "We're helping so many people who may not be able to afford health care, or realize that they're eligible for this. And it just tells me that there's a big need out there.”
